The church needs leaders with deep theological knowledge and hands-on ministry experience. Here, you’ll get both.
System of ‘1 University + Multi-Campuses’, Hong Kong LifeRoad Theological Seminary (HKLTS) equips men and women with a strong theological foundation to fulfill God’s calling on their lives.
Established in 2016, with its main campus located in Hong Kong, started with seven different satellite campuses throughout the mission field. HKLTS is an affiliated body of the Life Road Mission located in the City One area of Hong Kong. Dr. Kwon Ho-Duck was appointed as the 1st president of HKLTS, Dr. Yoon Hyung-Joong as chairman of the board of directors, and Dr. Moses Yun as Dean of Academic Affairs in HK main campus.
HKLTS is a mission-oriented school established to provide sound theological education to local pastors and leaders in the mission field.
HKLTS will allow you to pursue your studies without leaving the church you are serving, and to equip you with sound theology. We will make it affordable and accessible to all the local pastors and leadership.
In order to ensure that students on the mission field are able to access their studies, HKLTS uses a hybrid classroom system. We will use on-site lectures, Zoom lectures, and video lectures to ensure that students are not limited in their studies while on the field.
Each mission field has its own local flavor. Seminary classes should also have a unique way of being taught in each region, and HKLTS has satellite campuses around the world to meet local needs. If a certain number of students request us to do so, we can set up an independent campus there, and we are ready to extend a helping hand wherever there is a request for theological education from local pastors.
A credit-based system is a method of measuring and awarding academic progress and achievement by assigning credits to courses based on the time and effort required to complete them. In this system, each course is typically worth a certain number of credits, with the total number of credits required for graduation on each program.
Students earn credits by successfully completing coursework, assignments, exams, or other academic requirements as outlined by the school. These credits are usually transferable and can be accumulated over time towards a degree or certificate. The credit-based system allows students to progress at their own pace and provides a standardized way to quantify academic accomplishments.
Overall, the credit-based system provides a structured framework for students to track their progress, plan their studies, and work towards fulfilling the requirements for graduation and entering into ministry or other vocations.
Most pastors in the mission field are already involved in local church ministry, making it nearly impossible for them to travel to study, and many local pastors are not financially able to afford it. On the other hand, it goes without saying that a pastor not armed with sound theology and doctrine cannot build a healthy church.
Since a pastor is the spiritual head of a church, it is imperative that he or she be able to study and research the Bible with sound doctrine so that he or she can teach the Word of God correctly. HKLTS is a missions-oriented school that was established from the beginning to meet this need and to provide pastors with access to the B.A. in Biblical Studies and M.Div. programs they need at a minimal cost.
